In a talk at TEDxRainier, she tells the disturbing story of her relationship, correcting misconceptions many people hold about victims of domestic violence, and explaining how we can all help break the silence.

Brave, brave woman. Domestic violence is so widespread just because it’s hidden from the public. It’s time we treat each other with respect!
One small note, however- there are a LOT more than a few men who suffer from this, too- I think a lot more progress could be made if it’s openly accepted that abuse doesn’t stop due to gender, age or race.
